Altos de Tamarón

Winery and Vineyards

At the heart of Ribera del Duero

Pagos del Rey. Since 2002

Built in 2002, the modern Pagos del Rey winery stands out among the landscape. The concrete façade and roof keep the interior protected from the sun. The reception and production warehouse are built in a harmonious and continuous space without columns. On the upper floor, the social area has a large window offering a panoramic view of the vineyards. This design includes shiny stainless steel tanks and the latest winemaking technologies.

In 1,600 hectares of vineyards

Its location, in the small town of Olmedillo de Roa (Burgos), is no coincidence. The decision is due to family ties, as Félix Solís Yáñez’s wife was born in this area and her family-owned vineyards. At this time, the Solís family owns 70 hectares of vineyards and works with around 450 farmers in the area, with a total of 1,600 hectares.

Sustainability
Policy

Altos de Tamaron and its Pagos del Rey Winery are committed to the environment. Since the beginning of 2020, they have been implementing the Sustainability Plan, focusing on three axes:

Renewable Energies, implementing new technologies and equipment improvements to reduce energy use and water consumption.

Programme to reduce the weight of glass bottles, in order to reduce energy costs in production, recycling, and logistical transport.

Cardboard boxes made with 100% recycled paper materials, through agreements with global suppliers, guaranteeing that more than 80% of the boxes purchased by the company come from recycled paper.
